Directed by David Bowie's son Duncan Jones ( Zowie Bowie ) and intentionally filmed using very little computer generated effects to give it the late 70's / early 80's sci-fi flick vibe... Also an obvious nod to 2001: A Space Odyssey...

Now you KNOW I'm going to be lining up to see it!!!! And yes Jana....Star Trek was excellent!

I just posted Part Two of Distant Star and then I see this and try to envision some of the things I think of on the big screen. But alas....imagination can only go so far in ones mind.
I do like the fact that they've kept the CGI to a limit as you can tell when it's been overdone sometimes. The new Star Trek of course used a lot of CGI, but then they had to in order to properly convey the movie.

I guess my next movie will be Transformers. Hey....I used to hijack my sons Transformer toys and play with them, well, I did pay for them after all! LOL.
