I'm back.. sigh..

First the good news...

This is what was in my Slayer Survival Kit!

Pretty Pink pen with my initial on it...*for writing "Honey Do notes to your husband" LOL

Foot Scrub...*for use after a long day cleaning up after your doggies* Sweet.

Pretty Blue Key chain...*The color reminded me of your blog* Yep, it's blue alright, lol.

Ramen Noodle soup (creamy chicken)..*in honor of the Thai noodles entry, plus creamy chicken is my favorite* LOL, I remember those noodles!

Candy..*I know you love red licorice. Sugar free to help you keep off all the weight you've lost* I broke that open right away, haha

Red Gum..*something feisty to match the feisty spirit that's lying dormant within. You tell people you're shy, but there's a feisty girl deep in there* She is right about that, once you get to know me, there is that other side, lol.

Chapstick..*Fruity chap stick is the key to a long marriage. Or, at least, long kisses* That's cute, now I need to show my husband this...:)

Then she left a very sweet note at the bottom, which goes to prove what a very sweet person she is!..:)

Dang, the trip was a nightmare...Seriously...

It took us two full days to pack them up and move everything into the u haul. My son had to work clinic shifts 12 hours a day, so me, my husband and my daughter-in-law did it all. How could they have acquired so much stuff??? The heat was unbearable, we had to take tiny breaks just to get some relief.

My son went to a meeting with the head honchos at his school and come back in tears to tell us some bad news. Apparently, he still has to see 300 more clinical patients before he can graduate. He'd had a meeting a month ago, and was told he was up to par on everything. But, since then, it seems all the "signed" papers from several doctors on patients he'd seen, mysteriously disappeared.

WTH!

We have decided that's bullshit. They just want more freakin money. We searched for the copies but realized the kids had most likely already packed those in boxes before we got there. They didn't label the boxes (doh!) and those were some of the first boxes to go in the u haul.

So, he has to stay. He has another meeting on Tuesday. Meanwhile we will look through all the boxes to try and find the copies. If we can't, he will have to stay another 4 months and another $4000.00.... Plus, we will have to find him somewhere else to live temporally.

His wife had to come with us, she already has a job lined up, so she was crying her eyes out the whole trip home. Sigh, what a mess..

Now we will look for them. Say a prayer they didn't get thrown away in all the confusion of packing. He swears they are in one of those *10,000* boxes, lol, so hopefully today they will be found.

Ugg, enough of that!

My computer gets disconnected sometime shortly, and they promised me they will work on running all the cables into the garage today, so we will see. I've already made my little corner in the garage my own. I hung my Beatle poster out there and my collection of crosses, LOL. I also think I will put some PINK and flowers and glitter around, kind of like vampires and garlic.

Wow...

What a king size DRAG !

I hope it works out...

Man... amazing.

Yippee for sweet gifts from sweet friends! That was really nice of SlayerBarbie to send you those thoughtful pressies. Kudos to her!

Losing your son's paperwork is ludicrous! The VA used to "lose" my hubby's paperwork all the time, which really sucked, because it was related to his health. I do hope you find the copies of your son's clinical history & soon. The nice thing is, if it was in one of the first boxes loaded onto the U-haul, then it will be in one of the last boxes taken off the truck! :) I'll send some positive thoughts and prayers in your direction in regards to the missing documents.

And do make sure they get your "garage office" set up ASAP! We'd be worrying about ya, & tweaking for a Laurie's Asylum fix, otherwise. *hugs*

LadyVisine - 10:25 AM - 9/1/2008

Aww that is really crappy about you son Laurie. I have my fingers crossed and I'm sending hopeful thoughts your way that you find the papers.

Your little computer area sounds like you're going to make it a place of your own..Cool!

heavensdevil99 - 10:32 AM - 9/1/2008

I hope you find those papers quickly so he can come crashing at your place. :-)

logis - 12:10 PM - 9/1/2008

No wayyyyy....How many times is this going to happen?? Wasn't he supposed to graduate before and they said he didn't have enough credits at the last minute?? So if he ends up having to stay there, will Alieke stay here and they'll do a long distance marriage for a while? Why does he have to have another place to live? Lots of questions...I think I'll just call you...that whole thing just sucks...

lisalisabobisa - 12:55 PM - 9/1/2008

Oh man that is so frustrating!!!!! I do hope you find all his paperwork. That would be tough to swallow to have to do the patient clincals all over again.
Sounds like a nice little package from Slayerbarbie!! How sweet is she?!

Nikkie - 1:38 PM - 9/1/2008

I PRAY you find those papers, sounds a little crazy. I feel bad for his wife too... They better get you hooked up soon :) . Dee is so thoughtful, I was telling Lisa how cool it was. I'd be worried I'd send something stupid..hahah ! fingers crossed y'all come across those papers..... ~hug~

windy - 2:52 PM - 9/1/2008

Wow...that whole thing sounds awful. I really hope you guys can find the papers for your son, cause having to do another 4 months cause they are jerks at that place isn't fair...

CertainInsanity - 7:50 PM - 9/2/2008

my father -in-law swears that saying a prayer to St Francis, the patron saint of lost causes, will help you find anything. Works for me when I loose the car keys....I said one for you hopping those papers show up soon!

littleMissConfused - 5:33 AM - 9/3/2008

Best wishes on your 10,000-box search. Ridiculous about the school and lack of documentation, especially in this computerized era. I swear, sometimes I feel they just want you to keep paying and paying for as long as you live.

Really hope this works out for him. You (and he) have my prayers.

drdog - 10:34 AM - 9/4/2008

Cam---he was able to find some copies, so that is going to help. He went for his meeting and three doctors have come forward and told him he can shadow them and he will be the first one they call for patients. That will make the numbers go down fast and it's now two months instead of 4 months, so the price will go down also, thank goodness!

LauriesAsylum - 2:10 PM - 9/4/2008

Kimmi--Thanks! We did find some papers and the situation is a little bit better. We think his friend is going to let my son stay with him and the time factor should be two months instead of four!

Thank you, I can use all the positive thoughts I can get...:)

LauriesAsylum - 2:13 PM - 9/4/2008

Wanda--I'm in the garage right now. I'll take a picture of my little space and the mess when I find my camera, lol.

LauriesAsylum - 2:14 PM - 9/4/2008

Logis---Only found a few so far, so he is stuck staying in school a little longer, unfortunately. His deadline for renewing his certificate was yesterday, so he had to go ahead and renew, papers or not.

LauriesAsylum - 2:15 PM - 9/4/2008

Lisa--I know it sucks..

His lease runs out the 17th, so he has to be out of there. He thinks a friend might let him stay there, but he's not sure. He may do a weekly or monthly motel too. He's looking into all of it.

LauriesAsylum - 2:16 PM - 9/4/2008

Nikki__she's very sweet! Yours will be mailed out next week!

LauriesAsylum - 2:17 PM - 9/4/2008

Windy---They were both upset at first, but now I think they're kind of enjoying their time apart, lol.

LauriesAsylum - 2:19 PM - 9/4/2008

Meg---it's down to two months now, a little bit better. We've only found a few so far, there are still many boxes to go through!

LauriesAsylum - 2:20 PM - 9/4/2008

LMC--woohoo! I think I have a medal of St Francis, I need to go look for it and wear it, lol.

LauriesAsylum - 2:22 PM - 9/4/2008

Peter-Thank you, it really is ridiculous. And I really do think they just want more money, he's given them enough to fund one of their new rooms they've added on!
